The aim of the course is to give organic chemists an understanding and an overview of the subject of biotransformations along with real hands-on experience of running a biocatalytic reaction.
Attendees will learn about the main classes of enzymes and the transformations these enzymes carry out, which will be illustrated by examples and case studies.
The course also includes laboratory practical sessions where attendees will run an enzyme catalysed reaction. Recent developments in the field of biocatalysis will be covered as well as an overview of the sort of equipment and resources required to carry out biotransformations.
