Webinar 5pm – 6pm UK time 24th September 2025
We are all very aware of Trade marks and logos when it comes to consumer or customer facing products. But what about those industrial or business to business, B2B, products and processes which are only relevant to a few in the same industry or even just inside a company. These Trade marks and logos will never appear in high street shops, on Amazon or in adverts on TV. Yet companies insist on devising them. Why?
Dr Mike Kent, ex-Rhône-Poulenc, will in this webinar educate and entertain as to the whys and how’s of Industrial Trade marks. For anyone setting up their chemistry-based start-up or working in a product or process development or having a B2B ‘marketing’ responsibility then knowing some of the basics of Trade marks and logos is a must. Doing it right might makes business sense. Doing it wrong could lead to commercial and linguistic faux-pas which could lose you money and damage your reputation.
Dr Kent worked for 35 years with the Chemical Division of Rhône-Poulenc ending up as General Manager of the Silicones Division in the UK, Ireland & Scandinavia. This Division had been formed from the merger of Rhone-Poulenc’s and ICI's silicone businesses in 1989. Starting out as a practising chemist, originally a member of the Royal Institute of 91AV, Mike ended up managing, amongst many other things, all of Rhone-Poulenc Silicones Division’s portfolio of Trade marks.
This webinar is being organised by the Marketing Interest Group of the 91AV, RSC. It is open to all both RSC members and non-members and is free to attend.
