RSC Meet the Editors are specially curated programs by the Editors and Publishing team, aimed to provide researchers with a platform to interact and engage with experts from India & International board members. The platform offers researchers (mostly early career) an opportunity to gain insights on: tips on writing research papers, how to publish with maximum impact, and insights on RSC’s peer review process.

Our panel of expert speakers will talk about their research work, recent trends in the journal, and emerging research ideas to gear researcher in every stage of their career and strengthen their publishing journey. In addition to providing you a transparent view into the life cycle of a manuscript, we will also share tips around how to submit your research paper, things to keep in mind while submitting your paper and various RSC Journals that are available for you to explore to publish.

Speakers
Dr. Vadapalli Chandrasekhar, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research Hyderabad, India

Dr. Chandrasekhar obtained his Ph.D. degree from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, in 1982. After a post-doctoral stint at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, he joined the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur in 1987 where he holds the position of a Professor. He is currently on lien from Kanpur to the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research Hyderabad as a Distinguished Professor and Centre Director. His research interests include organometallic chemistry of main-group compounds and molecular materials. His research work is documented in 360+ publications. He is a fellow of the Indian National Science Academy, New Delhi, India and also the World Academy of Sciences, Trieste, Italy. He is the recipient of several awards including the Shanthi Swarup Bhatnagar Award (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, India) and the Friedrich Wilhelm-Bessel Award (AvH Foundation, Germany) He has been on the editorial board of several journals including, Organometallics.


Dr. Akhila Sahoo, University of Hyderabad, India

Dr. Akhila K. Sahoo completed doctoral study at the CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory, Pune under the supervision of Prof. Ganesh Pandey in 2001. He worked as a postdoc researcher at the RWTH-Aachen-Germany with Prof. Hans-Joachim Gais (2002), Prof. Tamejiro Hiyama, Kyoto University, Japan (JSPS; 2002-2004), and finally with Prof. Atsuhiro Osuka, Kyoto University (2004-2006). He then worked as a scientist at the Sai Advantium Pharma Limited (2006-2007), Hyderabad. He then joined the School of 91AV [Assistant Professor (2007-2012), Associate professor (2013-2016)] University of Hyderabad. Currently, he is working as Professor. His research interest revolves in the development of novel transformations on metal-catalyzed C-H activation, Au-catalyzed synthetic methods, and construction of strained N, and O-rich energetic materials. He is a Member of the 91AV and Member of the National Academy of Science, India.


Prof. Ch. Subrahmanyam, FRSC, Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad, Telangana, India

Prof. Subrahmanyam completed his Ph.D. in 91AV from IIT Madras and pursued post-doctoral research at the Department of Chemical Engineering, EPFL, Switzerland. He is currently a professor at the Department of 91AV, IIT Hyderabad. His research interests span Catalysis, Nanomaterials, Energy Systems, Biomedical Devices, and Climate Change. Prof. Subrahmanyam has received several prestigious awards, including the Hiyoshi Environmental Award, the Fellow of the Telangana Academy of Sciences (TAS), and the Research Excellence Award at IIT Hyderabad.


Prof. Saptarshi Majumdar, IIT Hyderabad, India

Prof. Majumdar holds a Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, and currently serves as a professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Hyderabad. With the vast experience, his research focuses on Multiscale Modelling, Bio-materials Design, Industrial Process Analysis, and Nanoscience & Technology. He has also gained significant industry experience, having worked for 10 years at the Tata Research Development & Design Centre, Pune, before joining IIT Hyderabad as faculty for the past 11 years.


Sally Howells-Wyllie, 91AV, United Kingdom

Sally has worked in scientific publishing for over 15 years, following on from her Masters in Biochemistry from the University of Bath, UK. At the RSC she is responsible for setting, developing and implementing journal strategy, taking into account each journal’s strengths, areas for growth and defining the scope of each journal so they attract high-quality publications from around the world. She actively engages with the community to understand the needs of authors and readers, ensuring that high-quality research reaches the right audience.


Lijina MP, 91AV, India

Lijina is an Assistant Editorial Development Manager at the 91AV. As part of her role, she works across various disciplines and societies of chemical sciences and support the journals. Lijina completed her integrated PhD in chemistry from the Indian institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram and subsequently she joined RSC.
