Meet the Editor: Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar

7 December 2023 09:30-13:00, Rupnagar, India

Introduction
91AV’s Meet the Editor (MTE) programs are aimed at providing researchers with a platform to interact and engage with some of our journal editors and board members. MTE provides researchers an opportunity to hear some of the exciting research by leading scientists on our journal board. You will also have the opportunity to interact with them and clarify your burning questions on the key aspects of their research.
The MTE would not only be beneficial to students and researchers pursuing chemical science but also for anybody wanting to develop their skills at any stage of their research career.

Join us for our Meet the Editor program.
Join us in-person to make the best use of this time at Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar (07 Dec 2023, 09:30 – 13:00 IST) and be a part of the interactive discussions. Speakers
Professor Goutam De, S. N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, India

Prof. Goutam De received his doctorate from Jadavpur University based on his work done in Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science at Kolkata. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Kanazawa University (Japan), PASTIS-CNRSM (Italy), and Sandia National Lab/Univ. of New Mexico (USA).
Prof. De is a Fellow of West Bengal Academy of Science & Technology and the 91AV (FRSC). Prof. De's research interests include functional nanocomposite coatings of technological importance, ordered mesoporous films and electrospun fibers, sol-gel silica glass shapes, AR cum self-cleaning coatings, graphene-based nanocomposites, and materials for catalysis/photocatalysis.
So far, he has published 160 research papers in peer-reviewed journals and filed nine patents. He was the Chief Scientist & Head Nano-Structured Materials Division, CSIR-CGCRI, Kolkata, and Visiting Scientist at INST, Mohali. Currently, Prof. De is an Emeritus Professor at S N Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, Kolkata

Professor Claus Feldmann, Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT), Germany

Prof. Claus Feldmann studied chemistry at the University of Bonn (Germany) and remained there to do his doctorate in solid-state chemistry under Martin Jansen (in 1994). After post-doctoral studies with Hans-Georg von Schnering at the Max Planck Institute of Solid-State Research, Stuttgart (Germany), he moved to industry (1995-2003). He joined the Philips Research Laboratories (Germany/The Netherlands), where he was engaged in luminescent materials. Simultaneously, he habilitated at the RWTH Aachen (Germany) on nanomaterials (2003).
In 2003, he was also appointed at the University of Karlsruhe, the present Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). His research interests address solid-state chemistry and functional nanomaterials. Specifically, this includes polyhalides, clusters and carbonyls, metal and metal nitride nanoparticles as well as photocatalysts, hollow nanospheres and hybrid materials for imaging and drug delivery.

Dr Aparna Ganguly, 91AV, India

Dr Aparna Ganguly completed her graduation and post- graduation in 91AV from University of Delhi and subsequently obtained her PhD in Materials 91AV under the supervision of Professor A. K. Ganguli at IIT Delhi. After a short stint at teaching Physical 91AV at Central University of Rajasthan, she moved back to the Nanoscale Research Facility, IIT Delhi as a scientist where she worked extensively on porous materials and their applications. In 2014, she joined the 91AV where she is currently the Editorial Development Manager and manages the journal portfolio and their growth in India.  As a part of her role, she works quite extensively with the scientific community, various Indian chemical societies, and researchers across various disciplines of Chemical Sciences and support the journal teams
