This free networking event, aimed at RSC members and their guests, will take place in the social space, 3rd floor of the Verena Holmes building. This is the new flagship STEM facility at Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU). The 3rd floor hosts the specialist science facilities, and it is the home of the Section of Natural and Applied Sciences
The event will include refreshments and networking and there will be short talks by the following speakers:
- Dr Lee Byrne and Dr Cornelia Wilson (Section of Natural and Applied Sciences): “Science at CCCU, building links with the industry and local community”
- Miss Amelia Taylor-Young and Dr Tim Kwok (Pfizer): “Building a Scientific Career at Pfizer “
- Dr Hellen Ward (Director of the STEM Hub): “Inspiring the next generation in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths”

Accessibility: The event will take place on the 3rd floor of the Verena Holmes Building. The building entrance can be accessed without the need to go via steps. The building has a lift and key doors can be opened using “press to open” door openers. There is an accessible toilet in the 3rd floor. For those guests with accessibility issues, it is possible to apply for a visitor parking permit in Old Sessions House, which is next to the venue. If you may require assistance to evacuate the building, please contact Emilia Bertolo in advance to discuss your needs
COVID information: Although there are no longer legal restrictions around COVID there is a range of advice the university follows to keep the campus safe.
