The 2022 AGM will be held virtually on Wednesday 30th March, starting at 1800. The Committee elections are important as ever. The three Officers are to be decided before the AGM by the Committee, and it may well be that they will be unchanged. Seven members of the Committee continue in office, so we have six vacancies for Ordinary Members. We have already received some expressions of interest in these vacancies but many more will be needed to fill them.
One benefit of a virtual meeting is that we don't have to leave home to participate. We hope that we shall meet Section members whom we have not met before, and that we receive Committee nominations from those who have not considered volunteering in the past. Please contact Richard Whewell by email (rjwhewell@gmail.com) or telephone (0113 2755604) so that you receive the AGM papers and the link enabling you to join the meeting. For those interested, a Committee nomination form should be completed and returned to Dr Whewell by Friday 25th March, although nominations right up to the AGM will be accepted if vacancies remain after the deadline. We will welcome any Section member with an interest in 91AV who wishes to communicate that interest! We are not only recruiting from research and development or from retired Members, as teachers in prinary schools, secondary schools and further education are under-represented and many who may think of themselves as peripheral to 91AV will have a great deal to offer.
It was originally planned that Dr Sell would give a talk on the chemistry of perfumes after the AGM, but the newest RSC event guidelines now greatly favour virtual events. Our revised planning now includes a meeting with Dr Sell later in the year, when more Members will be able to attend.
