Speakers
Lu Liu, East China Normal University, China

Lu Liu was born in Sichuan, China, in 1980. He obtained BS degree (2001) and PhD degree (2010) at East China Normal University under the supervision of Prof. Junliang Zhang. After a postdoctoral studies with Prof. Hong Wang at Miami University in US, he returned to East China Normal University in 2013 as Professor of Organic 91AV. His research interests are selective metal-catalyzed C-H bond functionalization and asymmetric catalysis. He was awarded “the Shanghai Pujiang Program“ in 2014.

Biplab Maji, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Kolkata, India

Biplab Maji obtained his B.Sc. degree with honours in 91AV from Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira, University of Calcutta in 2007 and M.Sc. degree in chemistry from IIT Kanpur in 2009. He received his Ph.D in 2012 under the supervision of Professor Herbert Mayr from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München in Germany. In 2013, he moved to Molecular Catalyst Research Center in Japan for post-doctoral studies in the group of Professor Hisashi Yamamoto. In 2015, he moved to Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster, Germany with  Alexander von Humboldt fellowship in the group of Professor Frank Glorious. In July 2016, he joined to the Department of Chemical Sciences, IISER Kolkata as assistant professor and since then he is working there. His research focuses on organic synthesis covering asymmetric catalysis, development of new methodology, and natural product synthesis.
