The Biological and Medicinal 91AV Sector (BMCS) of the RSC, the AGRI-net and Imperial College Agri-Futures Lab are hosting a postgraduate symposium for PhD and postdoctoral students undertaking chemical biology research in areas related to agriculture and the agrisciences. Chemical Biology in this context refers to physical sciences tools and technologies (in 91AV, Physics, Mathematics, and Engineering) that are being applied to tackle biological problems in the agri-sciences, at a molecular level.
The conference brings together PhD and postdoctoral students from different research communities to showcase the current state of fungal, insect and plant chemical biology achievements within the spirit of multidisciplinary interaction and engagement. Registration will be free for all academic attendees.
The symposium will consist of eight oral student presentations, student flash presentations and posters and talks from academic and industrial speakers from Imperial College, Syngenta and Bayer AG.
PhD and postdoctoral students interested in presenting their work should submit a half-page abstract by 18th March 2020 when registering for the event. Prizes will be awarded for the best two oral presentations and the best two posters.
