The 2018 retired members springtime social will include a lecture & lunch at the Turner Museum of Glass, University of Sheffield.
The Turner Museum of Glass was founded in 1943 by Professor W.E.S. Turner. Also responsible for founding the academic discipline of glass technology, Turner was a keen and imaginative collector. He wanted the Museum to act as an inspiration for all those working with glass by showing beautiful objects alongside technical innovation
Prof John Parker, curator of the Turner Museum, will deliver a talk entitled "South Yorkshire Glass Makers". A buffet lunch will be served following the talk.
