Making Science Work - A lecture by Nobel Prize Winner Sir Paul Nurse at De Montfort University, Leicester

Introduction
One of the leading scientists in the world, Nobel Prize winner, Sir Paul Nurse will deliver a lecture at De Montfort University entitled “Making Science Work”.  Sir Paul was jointly awarded a Nobel Prize in 2001 for his research on the discovery of molecules that regulate the cell cycle.   He was awarded a knighthood in 1999 for his contributions to cell biology and cancer research.  Sir Paul also served as the president of The Royal Society.  He is currently the Director of the Crick Institute, one of the world’s leading centres for biomedical research.   Sir Paul, in his lecture, will discuss how science can improve our health and quality of life, help solve the world’s biggest problems, drive our economies, enhance our culture and civilisation.
