We’d like to invite members to an East Midlands Local Section Talk and Buffet Supper.
The event starts at 6.30pm and a hot buffet supper will be served at 8.00pm.
We are delighted that Dr Nitin Seetohul from the Nottingham Trent University will deliver the keynote talk - “Identification and classification of Novel Psychoactive Substances using common laboratory instruments”
Chemical identification of new psychoactive substances (NPS) can be highly challenging due to the large variety of substances available. New regulations controlled by the Misuse of Drugs Act makes it an offence to be in possession of or sell psychoactive substances (PS). Many PS are still very popular with young adults as most are believed to be uncontrolled and are known to some as “legal highs”. Identification and characterisation of NSP is still very challenging.
This is a free event and places are likely to be booked up fast.
