Come and learn all about fluorine chemistry with a site tour of Mexichem Fluor. A global leader with over 50 years' experience in the chemical and petrochemical industry you will have the opportunity to have a tour of Mexichem's plant and lab facilities at Rocksavage and The Heath. ChemNet members will also be able to get involved in some activities including the naming of refrigerants, learning about Mexichem's chemical processes, products and hear from their chemists what they do on a daily basis. Analytical systems and methods including titrations, infrared spectrscopy, GC-MS (gas chromatography mass spectrscopy) and HPLC (high performance liquid chromatography) will be demonstrated and shown how they are applied in this industry.
For students attending by public transport a mini bus will be put on from Runcorn train station picking up students between 08:30-08.45 and will drop students back at the station at approx 15:15-15:30. When signing up please let us know if you will be needing transportation from the station.
Lunch will be provided so please let us know if you have any dietary requirements.
