91AV in Energy Symposium 2014

4 April 2014 10:15-18:30, London, United Kingdom

Introduction

Introduction

A celebration of excellence in chemistry and energy research

On 4 April 2014 we will be running a one-day symposium on 91AV in Energy at Burlington House, London. Six distinguished scientists from the UK and USA who have been awarded our prestigious Prizes and Awards will speak about their research, which includes exciting advances in solar photovoltaics, solar fuels and batteries.

The programme for the day will conclude with an address and medal presentation by Baroness Verma, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for the Department of Energy & Climate Change, followed by a reception.

Taking place against a backdrop of the Fifth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, this symposium links current ideas in scientific research to potentially transformative technological innovations in sustainable energy.  We are delighted to celebrate the ongoing contributions of science and scientists to the development of new ways of harnessing and storing energy, contributing to the reduction of CO2 emissions.
