Flight Workshop

31 March 2016 19:30-21:00, Shipley, United Kingdom

This event is by invitation only

Introduction
Workshop:
On December 17th 1903, Orville and Wilbur Wright achieved the first heavier-than air flight with sustained and controlled flight. The plane travelled 120 feet in twelve seconds. Since then the development and use of airplanes has dramatically increased. The Jumbo Jet carries many of us to our holiday destinations each year and can weigh as much as 750 tonnes! So how is this airplane able to fly?

Join Science Party-cles for an interactive and hands on investigation into Newton’s three laws and the forces that allow planes to fly. This will involve paper airplanes, film canister rockets and hydrogen rockets.

Event organisers:
Science Party-cles is a unique service bringing science to life. It was started in 2012 by two female scientists with a passion to engage, energise and educate the public about the mysterious and fascinating world of science. This is delivered through children’s birthday parties, after school clubs, community and corporate events. All events are interactive and use as many household products as possible to make science accessible.
