The Schools' Analyst Competition is a national competition run by the RSC's Analytical Division for first year sixth form students studying AS level 91AV or equivalent (i.e. Year 12). The Analytical Division’s Regions hold heats, in early spring each year, to select a team or teams, to go through to the National Final (held in June). Each team comprises three students (with an accompanying teacher).
Bristol ChemLabS will again host the northern section of the Western Region of the Analytical Division (WRAD) covering the south west and south Wales heats for schools. 16 teams will compete in a series of practical exercises. The teams should be of three Year 12 students (one team per school). Schools will complete for a place in the national final later in the year. The Bristol heat along with heats in Plymouth and Swansea will, between them, send just two teams to the national finals.
