Mechanochemistry or mechanical chemistry can be seen as an interface between chemistry and mechanical engineering, dealing with chemical transformations induced by mechanical means, either in the form of mechanical grinding and milling, or in the form of ultrasound. Although this field has been considered as a relatively niche area, in the past decades it has seen a number of exciting discoveries and developments. For example, there have been a special issue of Chemical Society Review and a web themed issue of Chemical Communications dedicated to the theme of mechanochemistry.
This international symposium will bring together leading experts as well as emerging researchers in the field of mechanochemistry from Canada, China, Germany, Japan, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, UK, and USA. We fully believe that all the presentations on this symposium will stimulate the exchange of ideas and experiences among all participants. We also wish this symposium to help promote the innovation in mechanochemistry from China by bridging Chinese researchers with top-tier scholars in the world.
