An Introduction to LC Method Translations
This short course introduces the analyst to isocratic and gradient method translations, including adjusting column dimensions (eg. scaling a method up or down); moving between different instruments (eg. transferring a method between sites) and modifying particle platforms (eg. between fully porous and solid-core silica particles). The course will introduce the theory and illustrate each situation with a number of practical examples including data for successful translation and common reasons for failed method translations. A ‘hints’ and tips’ section will also be included.
• Translating methods theory
• HPLC to UHPLC and vice versa
• Instrument to instrument
• Different particle platforms
• Examples of success and failure
• Hints and tips section
