A two part course covering the essential concepts and operational principles of high performance liquid chromatography
Who should take this course?
This course is in two separate 1 day ‘stepwise’ parts for ease of learning and covers the essential concepts and operational principles of High Performance Liquid Chromatography. This course is for you if you are involved in HPLC or are going to be involved in HPLC, in a practical, hands-on capacity. No previous HPLC training is necessary, although a basic understanding of HPLC would be useful. Delegates will receive the greatest benefit by registering for both parts, although it is entirely possible to take either part independently from the other.
What does it cover?
This course explains in practical, easy to understand terms:
Part One
• The basic principles of HPLC
• Different modes of HPLC
• HPLC instrumentation
• Basic troubleshooting
Part Two
•The nature of HPLC columns
•Mobile phase solvents and their characteristics
•Gradient elution
What will I get from this course?
This course will enable you to acquire a good understanding of the fundamental principles of HPLC. You will also discover ways in which you can make your chromatography easier and more efficient. If you’ve never taken a formal course, or if you need a refresher, this is an ideal course for you.
Course Outline
Part One
Definition of chromatography
Basic principles of separations
Different modes of HPLC
HPLC instrumentation
Basic troubleshooting
Part Two
Materials used for HPLC columns
Reversed-phase HPLC
Mobile phases
Gradient elution
