The topics that will be addressed in this context include lithography, biopolymers, tissue regeneration, functional organic molecules, biological activity, ionic liquids, polymer science, organometallic catalysis, nanoscience – nanocatalysis – nanocomposites and chirality. This should promote the philosophy “alone you can do a lot, together you can do much more”.
Most of all, this Symposium is dedicated in memoriam to Professor Roberto Fernando de Souza. His untimely death left an enormous emptiness at the Institute of 91AV, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul and the scientific community in general. The legacy of his unrivaled dedication is present in all of our lives and we hope that this symposium will be the tribute he deserves and that all of his positive contributions will continue forever in our memories and attitudes.
