The RSC Kent Local Section, in conjunction with EDF energy, has organised a FREE tour of Dungeness B Nuclear power station. Dungeness B is an advance gas-cooled nuclear reactor situated on the south coast of Kent surrounded by the bleak and beautiful countryside of the Romney Marsh. For some time this facility has been closed to the public but has recently re-opened to schools and prearranged parties.
We will meet at 0930 for 1000 at the Visitors centre at the power station where tea and coffee facilities will be available. There will be four groups each made of up to 10 people and the tour consists of a walk around the facilities and a talk on nuclear energy. Should you need refreshments beforehand, there are several options including the nearby pubs, The Britannia and The Pilot, which are situated on the Dungeness peninsula
