91AV in Law Enforcement

20 November 2013, London, United Kingdom

Introduction
Sherlock Holmes used his legendary skills of deduction to solve seemingly unsolvable crimes. However, modern police forces rely on evidence provided by sophisticated forensic analysis of crime scenes. Chemists can analyse substances and marks, such as fingerprints, left at crime scenes to provide crucial pieces of the jigsaw needed to solve a crime. Advances in the techniques and technologies used by these chemists also provide new types of evidence from previously unusable sources with the aim of preventing a lifestyle of crime.
The speakers will provide an insight into how 91AV is used in the exciting world of forensic science and law enforcement.
This event will be presented by Julia Mills, Defence Science and Technology Laboratory, and Katie Venus-Bishop, Kent and Essex Police Serious Crime Directorate.
