This course provides an introduction to Mass Spectrometry Imaging, aimed at complete beginners.
Participants will gain a firm foundation in the technique by learning about the different types of MSI (DESI, MALDI & SIMS), the definition of MSI and the principles and components of the mass spectrometer.
The types of samples which can be analysed are covered, along with the different sampling techniques available.
Beyond the instrumentation, the course discusses why the technique is used and the answers it can give, looking at qualitative and quantitative data analysis, to give you a full picture.
The course reviews a number of industries and their application of MSI.
