The John Innes Centre is a world leading plant and microbial science research institute. The institute fosters a creative, curiosity-driven approach to fundamental questions in bio-science, with a view to translating that into societal benefits. Over the last 110 years, the institute has achieved a range of fundamental breakthroughs, resulting in major societal impacts. The site tour will include brief visits to the bioimaging, horticultural services and metabolomic analysis departments, and discuss the history of the institute and current projects.
