Without marketing, great ideas, brilliantly performing materials, wonderful new gizmos, ground breaking scientific publications or the most powerful insights will not make it out of the laboratory. So what is it to ‘market’ a product and are there any particular challenges for chemistry based products and services?
Marketing goes far beyond just creating adverts, slogans or campaigns. Marketing and selling a product to businesses or consumers also needs to ensure the functions of a product or services create value for the customers whilst ensuring societal values such as ethics, sustainability and an improved environment are respected.
In this online talk, two experienced marketers will review some of the basics of the art and science of marketing, the role of marketers to focus and shape product developments and how marketers connect chemistry based products or services with customers and their values.
This talk will be recorded and then posted on the RSC's private YouTube channel. Except for the presenters and organisers all attendees video and audio will be muted. Questions will be taken from the 'chat' function.
