This two-day course gives an introduction to the theory and practice of calculating Uncertainty of Measurement for chemical analysis of foods. The approach to Uncertainty measurement will follow the requirements of ISO 17025, which is also that required by UKAS.
Delegates will be taken through the process of assessing an analytical procedure, identifying what data are needed to describe and calculate the Uncertainty of Measurement, and the calculations themselves. At the end of the course, delegates should be able to carry out an Uncertainty of Measurement Calculation for one of their own analytical procedures, as well as being able to understand and interpret Uncertainty of Measurement results quoted. A Guide to Uncertainty Calculations, used as part of the course, will be provided to delegates.
