There is NO CHARGE for this event (Museum Donations Welcome!)
Now for something quite different – a town walk and museum visit rather than a walk through the Kentish countryside. This is your chance to hear all about the history of Beckenham on a four mile walk from Beckenham Hill Station led by local guide Michelle Lynch. This gentle stroll through the urban landscape will end at ‘Museum of the Mind’ at Bethlem Royal Hospital which was founded in 1247 and was the first institution in the UK to specialise in the care of the mentally ill. The Museum was opened in 2015 and cares for an internationally renowned collection of archives, art and historic objects. There is the option to meet the tour party at the Museum at 13.15. After the museum we will walk back to Beckenham and there will be the option to stop for drinks in Beckenham Village Centre.
See https://museumofthemind.org.uk/whats-on/events for museum details.
In order to plan this event, it is important to register. To attend, please return the form below no later than Saturday 20th April to Dave Alker by post to 19 Shakespeare Road, Birchington, CT7 9ET or at dave.alker@btinternet.com
Please book me ___ places on the RSC Kent Section walk around Beckenham
