The 9th edition of AMI's international conference on Polyolefin Additives will take place on 13-15 September 2016 at the Imperial Riding School Renaissance Hotel, Vienna, Austria. The event will start with an evening Welcome Cocktail Reception for all delegates on 13th September followed by a 2-day technical programme, and a focused exhibition will run alongside the conference.
Polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) are found in all types of applications and offer high performance from pipes and cables in construction, through lightweight materials in automotive, plastics for medical devices and protective film and rigid packaging. Properties can be tailored and enhanced by careful selection of resin, additives and processing technology. Some of the latest challenges are recovery and recycling including re-additivation of plastics; high impact performance in transportation and the incorporation of bio-based fibres in composites to raise sustainability. There is also a move towards using just one plastic type in packaging, rather than incorporating high barrier plastics, which may demand improved polyolefin properties and will facilitate recovery. Experts can solve many challenges using established technologies from careful polymer selection and crosslinking to special recipes.
AMI's Polyolefin Additives 2016 will provide a global knowledge and debating forum and networking opportunity for all companies involved in specifying polyolefins, compounding, researching materials, and additives and compounding equipment suppliers.
