The SCPA is planned under the auspices of the Division of Medicinal 91AV of the Italian Chemical Society and the EFMC (European Federation for Medicinal 91AV) mainly for the researchers and PhD students of the Faculties of Pharmacy and Sciences and for researchers of pharmaceutical industries. The official language of SCPA is English.
Since 2008, SCPA will cover a three years program on the most advanced analytical methodologies involved into the launch of new drugs, starting from the discovery phase (hit identification, structure properties relationship), through drug development (lead optimisation, ADMET studies, biomarkers identification), ending with formulation quality control and validation. New cycles will follow, in which the most recent analytical topics in the specific phase will be introduced.
In 2008 the SCPA first year program is focused on 'ADVANCED ANALYTICAL METHODOLOGIES IN DRUG DISCOVERY'. In particular, the cutting-edge analytical approaches in pharmaceutical profiling (SPR) and hit identification are examined.
